How Aviadar Supports You
Aviadar acts as your dedicated liaison between you, your family, and our partner schools. All communication, school selection, visa guidance, and enrolment is handled through us — so you never have to navigate the process alone.
Choosing the right Flight Training Organisation (FTO) is one of the most important decisions you will make. Not all flight schools offer the same training quality, facilities, or student support.
Aviadar note: Aviadar helps students compare trusted South African flight schools and identify the most suitable training pathway based on budget, career goals, and preferred location.
Before applying, ensure you meet the basic requirements for Commercial Pilot Licence training.
Having the correct documentation ready can significantly speed up the application process.
Aviadar note: Ensure all documents are scanned clearly and stored in both digital and printed formats.
Once you have selected a suitable flight school, the application process can begin. Applications generally require personal information, educational background, medical history, and your preferred course start date. After acceptance, the school will issue an Offer Letter or Letter of Acceptance — essential for your South African Study Visa application.
Aviadar note: Aviadar assists students throughout the application process, helping ensure all documentation is completed correctly before submission.
Before committing to a flight school, it is important to understand the full cost of training. Depending on the flight school and package selected, CPL training in South Africa generally ranges from approximately ZAR 850,000 to ZAR 1,200,000. Many schools offer staged payment plans to make training more manageable.
Indian students require a South African Study Visa before commencing training. It is recommended to begin the visa process at least 6–8 weeks before your intended departure date.
Aviadar note: Aviadar can guide students through the documentation requirements and help ensure applications are submitted correctly.
Once your visa is approved, you can begin preparing for your move to South Africa. Most international students arrive through Johannesburg, Cape Town, or Durban.
Aviadar note: Many Aviadar-supported packages include accommodation, airport transfers, daily transport, and student support — helping you settle quickly and focus on training.
Even if you hold a DGCA Class 1 Medical Certificate, you will still need a SACAA-approved Class 1 Medical Certificate before commencing flight training in South Africa.
Aviadar note: Your flight school will provide guidance on approved aviation medical examiners.
Before your first flight lesson, you must obtain a South African Student Pilot Licence (SPL). The SPL allows students to begin flight training under instructor supervision.
Once your SPL is issued, your pilot training officially begins. Most students complete their CPL training within 12 to 18 months, depending on weather conditions, scheduling, and individual progress.
Students wishing to work as commercial pilots in India after completing their South African training must convert their SACAA licence to a DGCA licence.
Aviadar note: Aviadar works with trusted partners to assist pilots preparing for DGCA conversion examinations and the licence conversion process.
