Safety Policy

1. Our Commitment to Safety

At Aviadar, safety is at the core of everything we do. Aviation is a highly regulated industry, and we take our responsibility to students seriously. We only partner with flight schools that meet or exceed the safety standards set by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA).

2. School Vetting Standards

Before any school is listed on the Aviadar platform, it must meet the following criteria:

• Full registration and approval by the SACAA as an Approved Training Organisation (ATO)
• Compliance with ICAO-aligned training curricula
• Maintenance of a documented Safety Management System (SMS)
• Regular aircraft airworthiness inspections in line with SACAA requirements
• Qualified and current flight instructors holding valid SACAA instructor ratings
• Adequate student-to-instructor ratios
• Transparent incident and accident reporting procedures

3. Ongoing Monitoring

Aviadar conducts periodic reviews of all partner schools to ensure continued compliance with safety standards. Schools that fail to maintain these standards may be suspended or removed from our platform without notice.

4. Student Safety Responsibilities

Students placed through Aviadar are expected to:

• Follow all safety briefings and instructions provided by their assigned school
• Never fly when unfit to do so (fatigue, illness, medication, or impairment)
• Report any unsafe conditions or practices to their instructor and to Aviadar
• Comply with all SACAA regulations and school-specific safety rules
• Complete all required ground school and pre-flight training before solo operations

5. Medical Fitness

All student pilots are required to hold a valid SACAA Class 1 or Class 2 Medical Certificate before commencing flight training. Aviadar strongly recommends obtaining a medical assessment before applying, to confirm fitness to fly. We can provide guidance on approved aviation medical examiners in South Africa.

6. Insurance

All partner schools are required to hold adequate aviation liability insurance covering student pilots during training. Students are advised to also obtain personal travel and health insurance for the duration of their stay in South Africa. Aviadar can provide guidance on suitable insurance options upon request.

7. Emergency Procedures

Each partner school maintains documented emergency response procedures in accordance with SACAA requirements. Students will be briefed on emergency protocols during their induction. In the event of a serious incident, Aviadar will provide support and act as a liaison between the student, the school, and relevant authorities.

9. Policy Review

This Safety Policy is reviewed annually and updated as required to reflect changes in aviation regulations, industry best practice, and feedback from students and partner schools.
